I Witnessed the Most Special Moment of My Life on a Boat Trip
One of the most fascinating moments of my visit to Istanbul was undoubtedly the Bosphorus dinner cruise I attended. After spending a few days in the city, joining this dinner cruise was a perfect opportunity to both relax and enjoy the unique view of Istanbul. However, that night was not just about the beautiful view and delicious food. By complete coincidence, I witnessed a special moment that I will never forget in my life.
First Step on the Boat
A vehicle came from the hotel to pick us up in the evening. After a short journey, we reached the port on the Bosphorus. The boat was brightly decorated and created a wonderful atmosphere. At the entrance, we were guided to our table with the warm welcome of the staff. My table by the window was positioned in a way that I could see the fascinating view of the Bosphorus from right in front. It was incredible to watch the historical texture of Istanbul under the lights.
A Delicious Evening Starting with Turkish Cuisine
When I sat at my table, a plate of delicious appetizers was waiting for me. While enjoying the appetizers on one hand, I was also lost in the view of the Bosphorus. The waiters were very kind and came to take our main course order. I chose fresh fish; eating this wonderful meal by the sea was like a ritual.
At this time, our guide came to us, introduced himself and said that we could easily reach him if we needed anything. Everything was so orderly and organized that I felt very special.

After our main courses were served, the shows started on stage. First, the Mesnevi dance was performed. This mystical and peaceful dance completely changed the atmosphere on the boat. Then, oriental dance and folk dances took the stage. These shows, each reflecting Turkish culture, were simply mesmerizing. I lost track of time while watching.
An Unexpected Moment
After the shows, a couple was invited on stage. At first, I couldn't understand what was going on. The other guests at my table and I were looking at each other, trying to guess what was going to happen. A special music for the couple started playing; the atmosphere of the boat changed as it was filled with a romantic, soft melody.
The couple started dancing as if they didn’t even realize that all eyes were on them. The woman’s face was filled with both excitement and happiness. The man’s eyes showed determination.
Marriage Proposal
At the end of the dance, the man suddenly dropped to his knees. The boat went silent as the woman looked into his eyes in surprise. Everyone was guessing what was going to happen, but we were still under the spell of that moment. The man took a ring out of his pocket and proposed to the woman.
At that moment, I got goosebumps. Everyone on the boat started applauding and cheering at once. Everyone was shouting with excitement for her to say “Yes!” Tears welled up in the woman’s eyes, an indescribable happiness appeared on her face, and she nodded and said “Yes.” That moment, it found a place in everyone’s hearts.
Celebration and Excitement
The applause grew louder once more as the couple hugged each other. The dancers and DJ immediately took action to celebrate the occasion. A special celebration song started playing, and everyone joined in on this special moment as the couple danced happily on stage. The waiters brought a cake and drinks to the couple’s table as a little surprise. This celebration allowed all the guests on the boat to share their happiness.
Memorable Shots with a Unique View of the Bosphorus
After the celebration, the couple went outside and had their souvenir photos taken under the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul. We, the guests, took photos to share their happiness and immortalized this moment. The lights of the Bosphorus and the couple’s happiness added a unique atmosphere to these shots.
